Welcome to Cairn Counseling! I am so glad that you are here. My name is MIchelle Godwin, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I am fat-positive, queer-affirming, and neurodivergent-affirming psychotherapist. I am committed to continuing the development of an anti-oppression and anti-carceral framework.
I work primarily with cneurodivergent and queer clients struggling anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, and complex life experiences (including the effects of living under systems of oppression). Respecting clients as the experts on themselves, I support clients in growth, healing, development, recovery, and wellness by bearing witness, providing therapeutic interventions, cultivating insight, teaching skills, and collaboratively problem-solving. I am theoretically aligned with secular humanistic and developmental therapy.
